Ella Marie Minter

On August 18, 1962, a beautiful bouncy baby girl name Ella Marie Minter was born to Mary Minter and Joseph Johnson. Ella Marie, known by her middle name and preceded in death by both parents, transitioned from this world on October 1, 2024.
Marie, a longtime resident of Newark, attended Miller Street School and Weequahic High School. She was well known for her feistiness and strong will. She had a big heart and would do whatever she could for those in need. Marie had a love for music, singing, and dancing. She enjoyed doing hair and cooking. If you were hungry, she would feed you. If you needed/wanted your hair braided, she would braid it.
Ella Marie will be tremendously missed. She leaves to cherish her memories: four sisters: Betty Lou Minter (Alabama), Loretta Washington (Virginia), Francine Smith (Virginia) and Tashya Scott (New Jersey), two brothers: Anthony Austin Jr and Gregory Austin (New Jersey); one son: Kaseem Burr (Georgia), Bonus Father: Anthony Austin Sr, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She will forever live in our heart, but Rest In Paradise

A Memorial Service will take place Thursday, October 17, 2024. The Memorial Service will  begin, 12:00 PM at 107 North 17th Street East Orange, NJ 07017
